ALL MIND EMPOWERMENT

Soaring Spectrum Retreats

Psychology beyond the therapy room.

Connection Understanding Regulation Confidence

Immersive, neuro-affirming retreats for neurodivergent teens, young adults and adults.

Practical strategies, meaningful connections and real-life experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

What is Soaring Spectrum?

Soaring Spectrum was created from a simple idea: some things are easier to understand when we experience them, rather than just talk about them.

A therapy session can provide important insight and strategies, but everyday life happens outside the therapy room. Knowing a regulation strategy is different from recognising when your body needs it. Understanding boundaries is different from practising one. Talking about connection is different from experiencing what it feels like to belong without having to change yourself first.

Soaring Spectrum creates space for those experiences.

Each retreat combines psychological education, experiential activities, practical capacity building and supported connection to help participants better understand themselves and develop strategies they can take into everyday life.

Self-Advocacy & Participation

Developing confidence to understand and communicate individual needs, preferences, boundaries and accommodations.

Neuro-Affirming by Design

Our retreats recognise that there is no single “right” way to communicate, regulate, socialise, participate or learn.

Participants are not expected to mask their neurodivergence or perform neurotypical social behaviours in order to belong.

We recognise differences in communication, sensory processing, social energy, executive functioning and emotional regulation. Wherever possible, participants are provided with choice, flexibility and different ways to engage, including opportunities for movement, sensory regulation, quiet time and reduced social demand.

Our goal is to build self-understanding, regulation, confidence, self-advocacy and capacity to navigate everyday life in ways that are meaningful and sustainable for the individual.

Connection Without Pressure

Connection is an important part of Soaring Spectrum, but connection is never forced.

Some people connect through conversation. Others connect through shared activities, humour, interests, creativity or simply being alongside others.

There is no expectation to make friends, participate in every discussion or disclose personal information.

By reducing the pressure to “socialise correctly”, we aim to create an environment where participants can engage and connect with others in ways that feel comfortable and authentic.

Clinically Informed. Practically Focused.

Soaring Spectrum programs are developed and overseen by Heidi Emery, Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Director of All Mind Empowerment, with content informed by psychological theory, evidence-based practice and an understanding of neurodevelopment, emotional regulation and everyday functioning.

The retreats do not replace individual psychological treatment. Instead, they provide a different environment for psychoeducation, experiential learning, supported skill development and capacity building.

Programs are adapted to the developmental stage and needs of each group.
